I Soliti Ignoti
1960 film, I Solti Ignoti (Big Deal on Madonna Street). The movie begins at 7 p.m., and is in Italian with English subtitles. The Club opens at 5:30 for pizza and/or desserts; watch ClubMail for more details. There is no charge for viewing the movie; pizza is $5 per person and beverages will be for sale.

This movie is a classic comedy burglar caper, starring Vittorio Gassman and Renato Salvatori, directed by Mario Monicelli. A troop of inept thieves attempt to break into a pawn shop safe. Along the way, everything that could go wrong does as they manage to drill through the wrong wall, and create various acts of mayhem. The movie features some classic names in Italian cinema including Totto and Marcello Mastroianni. Woody Allen’s “Small Time Crooks” was clearly inspired by this film, so if you liked that one, you’ll enjoy Madonna Street.
